Privacy policy

Rotor Arcade (rotorarcade.com) is a small collection of free browser games, operated from Australia. This page explains what data the site does and doesn't handle, and what your rights are. Plain English, on purpose.

What we don't collect

There are no accounts, no sign-ups and no forms. The site itself doesn't ask for or store your name, email or any other personal information, and there's no server-side database of players. The one exception is email: if you choose to write to us, your address and message land in our inbox (see Contact below).

Game data stays on your device

Each game may save small pieces of state locally in your browser (localStorage), for example your best score. It stays on your device and never reaches us. Clear it any time in your browser settings.

Hosting and metrics

The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like most hosts, Cloudflare processes standard request logs (such as IP address) to serve pages and protect the site from abuse, and shows us only short-lived, aggregate traffic metrics. At the edge we also record one metrics event when the catalogue or a game loads. Each event contains the page or game, country code, broad device class, the hostname of an external referring site if there is one, and a daily-rotating pseudonymous identifier. That identifier is made from the request IP address and browser user-agent using a private salt and one-way hash. The raw IP address is not stored in this dataset, and the identifier changes at UTC midnight so visits cannot be linked across days. Nothing is stored in your browser for these metrics. We use them only to count visits and daily unique players, understand broad traffic sources and device mix, and keep the site healthy. Requests are served from the Cloudflare data centre nearest you, which may be outside your own country; Cloudflare handles that under its own privacy program. Rotor Arcade itself doesn't set cookies, load an analytics script, fingerprint you or track you across other sites.

Advertising

There are no ads and no ad code on the site. If display ads (Google AdSense) are ever added, this policy will be updated first with the required disclosures, and where required a consent prompt will ask before personalised ads are served.

Retention

Local game state stays in your browser until you clear it, Cloudflare's request logs expire on Cloudflare's standard schedule, the edge metrics events described above are retained for three months, and emails to us are deleted once answered.

Your rights

You can ask what personal information we hold about you and have it corrected or deleted. For Rotor Arcade that's almost nothing: only what you've chosen to put in an email to us. If you think we've handled your information incorrectly, email us and we'll respond. In Australia you can also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au), or in the EU/UK to your local data protection authority.

Children

Rotor Arcade is general-audience and doesn't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the "last updated" date above will change with it.
